externally mediated interaction (occasionalism) is the belief that there is no rational explanation for the apparent interaction of mind and matter; and, therefore, a divine intervention is required. each time the mind experiences willing the legs to walk on, god (or, perhaps, some minion of god) performs a minor miracle and makes the legs move.
