Dualistic Epiphenomenalism

[ I1 *><!* ( I2 ≡ I3 ) ]

§1: classification

§2: descriptive analysis

classical epiphenomenalism assumes that there is an ontological component of the human individual (an I3 or, as depicted here, and ( I1 ≡ I2 )); but, that it can not influence with the I1. more generally, it is assumed that the mental can not have a causal effect on the physical. consequently, there is a much closer relation between the I3 and the I2 compared to the cartesianism to which classical epiphenomenalism is a reaction; for, no interaction with the physical would be allowed to contribute to the origin of the I2. the relation between the I2 and the I3 is here depicted as one of complete identity but a softer version, [ I1 *><!* I2 <= I3 ], would also be possible.
