§1: classification

§2: family portraits

cartesian psychophilosophy is usually considered a dualistic system because Descates postulated two fundamental substances; but, since God created both res cogitans and res extensa, it is not entirely clear why one could not consider Descartes a monist. in any event, the taxonomic scheme used by this catalog counts components; and, this produces a different 'count' for cartesian psychophilosophy than that obtained by counting substances; for, Descartes clearly described three sets of properties. consequently, cartesian psychophilosophy is classified as a form of trionism. the article on cartesian trionism will present the case for not classifying Descartes as a component or property set dualist.
